Students did not only visit the place, but they were also guided through every corner to touch the relief on the wall while listening to the legend and history of  the temple. Afterwards reroute to Kaliurang and stay over night under the Merapi vulcano, one of the most active volcano in the world. Early morning, we climbed up the hill of Plawangan, to get the closer look and feel the rumble of Merapi volcano. This journey took about 6 hours. It was really a life experience for our students.

Objectives of the programme:

To enhance students’ learning experience and improve their language skill by exposing them to the culture, socio-politic and real life situation within the country of the target language.

The students who have joined this Immersion Programme gained deeper and wider knowledge of the Southeast Asian societies and culture. In addition, their language skill have improved impressively.

Comment:

Students built strong bond among them, become more mature and motivated toward  learning of the language after the programme.

I strongly recommended this programme to be conducted regularly, to allow more students a chance to participate.

This programme also has given me a lot of new idea, and enriched my teaching expertise, which will benefit our programme.
